WD receives the Prime Minister's Best Industry Award 2011

Western Digital, the world's leader in digital storage solutions, today announced that Western Digital (Thailand) has received the Prime Minister's Best Industry Award 2011, the most prestigious recognition in the field of industrial excellence in Thailand.

The Prime Minister's Industry Award was established in 1981 by the Thai Ministry of Industry with the aim of promoting and developing the nation's industrial sector, to elevate standards and to promote industry performance. The selection of a winner is based on five main criteria: Management Capability; Business Performance; Innovation, Technology and Knowledge-based Capability; Economic and Social Impact and Corporate Governance. In 2011, there were 26 award winners and Western Digital (Thailand) is the only company awarded with the Prime Minister's Best Industry Award.

The award ceremony was held on February 29, 2012, at Santi Maitri Building, Thai Government House, Bangkok. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand, presented the awards to the winners.

In addition to the Prime Minister's Best Industry Award, Western Digital (Thailand) has received numerous awards in 2011 from the Ministry of Labour including the Excellent Enterprise on Human Resources Management Award 2011, Thailand's National Occupational Safety and Health Award 2011 and The Outstanding Establishment of Labour Relations and Welfare Award for 5 consecutive years (2007 - 2011). Recently, WD received 2011 "Outstanding Partner" Award from The U.S. Commercial Service in Thailand, recognizing the company's sustainable supports and greatest contribution to U.S. Commercial Service in Thailand.
